Transformers has a fairly expansive amount of Lore for a Franchise that was mostly created to Sell toys, actually, I think it has expansive lore to include as many characters as possible and hence more toys.
But regardless, the Lore exists, and that is Sad because barely anybody knows about it, everyone just knows Micahel bay!
And while Bumblebee and Rise of the beasts moved away from that a Little, I don't think either of them had the intended effect of deepening the Transformer's Lore, because people were like.
Well I hate Transformers, the only reason I go is big explosions and Big robot fights, without that, I ain't going.
And I fully blame Michael Bay for that.
But this movie for the first time, went into the Lore of what the Transformers actually are, like animated shows like Transformers Prime did so well.
In fact many times I could have sworn they just Straight up used Transformers Prime music, and the animation is obviously very close.
The only thing is the Story sometimes felt very predictable more so because we the fans know who Sentinel Prime is as a character.
I don't know how much more I can say spoiler free, so I shall stop.
