Here is the thing about the Rings of Power right, this quote represents it perfectly, it was almost good for a bit, and then not at all, when last it was good, it was known as Lord of the Rings.
Now, I cannot keep beating the dead horse of, oh but Sauron is good actually, because he is not, Sauron in this episode is as predictable cookie cutter villain as it goes, gone are the days of complexity, the days when my boi could plainly speak the truth and still have people love him.
In the time since the first age, this phenomenon has had many names, but most people call it, poor writing.
See Sauron, at least in the beginning of this season, had some complexity to him, you could almost see him fighting against his nature, maybe he could have a life just as a man, maybe he could be different from Morgoth, but it was not to be.
You see now when Sauron does a kindness, you already know he is just lying, and yeah while it was obvious, because he's Sauron, but there was a certain, Idk, Aura about him, you could almost see why people followed him.
For example, when he calls Glug as an Uruk, instead of an Orc, to gain his trust, maybe he will care for the Orcs as Adar before him did not, but no, he just kills Glug.
See maybe at least if he listened to Glug, this could explain the Orc's Loyalty to the Dark Lord, Sauron is a cold and Calculating Being, his emotional Outburst are just as calculated as anything else, imagine if he had smiled when Galadriel threw herself off the cliff, knowing that she too will be under his influence as he crafted the one ring.
Imagine if he actually didn't act like a little kid who had lost his toy.
But no.
There was this moment when Adar wanted peace between Elves and Uruks and oh it was going to be all sad and stuff, how close they were to killing Sauron, but no, wasn't to be, it just felt like yeah, we know how this will end.
Although granted it was one of the better moments in the episode.
Now, what else goes on in this episode, Nori and Poppy, the Dark Wizard and Gandalf, who has finally been named thankfully.
What happened there? The Dark Wizard destroyed the Stoor village turning them into Harfoots and then just fucked off.
What else... Tune in next season to find out!
What of Durin... he is in mourning, Elrond survived and they made the sanctuary where they were found in lord of the Rings, What then? Tune in next season to find out!
Oh also the Orcs killed Adar, as one could see coming from fifty miles away.
I don't know man, I still enjoyed the season, but like there is still so much... fakeness, it's almost as if, as if, the people writing this didn't really get lord of the rings, so it tries but fails to live up to what it should be.
Sigh... on to the next one then, because if I do want to see how they actually handle the ending to this, I presume this will end with the actual Great war between Sauron and the last Alliance of Men and Elves that finally killed him, sure, sure.
No way they will butcher that right? right?
