I once read a very good piece of Fiction, at least it was good at the time, you know the time I was a teenager.
I am speaking of course, of the Kane Chronicles, by Rick Riordan, huh? Not Percy Jackson? Well shit.
So yeah Kane Chronicles is the Egyptian equivalent of Percy Jackson, as in it is a bit of Mythological Fiction based around a group of Teens facing life threatening situations in order to deal with Divine troubles and postpone the end of the world until the next Divine Fuckery.
So why am I bringing this up?
Well the story Revolves around reinstating the previously Dethroned Egyptian gods and finally instating a Pharaoh in the currently Empty throne of Egypt.
And I think people are already seeing where I am going with this, what with this show being all about Mobs and Mob bosses, and me equating Mob bosses to kings...
So what exactly is the similarity?
Well the Kane Chronicles brings forth a concept of events repeating themselves, big events and speeches often happen again and again, with just the characters changed, it is brought up when Horus, the new heir to the Egyptian god's throne repeats the speech of Carter who is the main character, after he becomes the new Pharaoh
So what is this got to do with this episode?
Well it is simple, Great things repeat themselves, it is kind of like saying Great people think alike, or as Yorichii put it in Demon Slayer
It is a weird thing to put this quote meant for Great people and use it in the context of the Penguin, But it applies, "Terrible things, but Great..." Yes that is Harry potter, okay I'll stop Quoting now.
This episode chronicles the possibly Brewing Gang War between Gigante-Maroni and the Penguin Gang, Sofia tries to get Oz all on his lonesome by giving some consequences to anyone who Dares work with him, Penguin claps back by making it very difficult for her to get to him by spreading out the Product.
And finally gets to the point where he brings every small gang in the city Together under him, by using the same tactics that Sofia did, so they are pretty similar.
Victor on the Other hand, is going evil, he kills Squid, which usually would be a conquering your Demons moment, and it is, just that he is now an even bigger Demon.
I'm telling you, he is becoming Zasz.
But what is interesting is where the Episode leaves us, Sofia finds her way to Oz's hiding place only to see his mother is Alive, a Mother who at this point is considering Euthenasia if she grows too old.
The question that remains is, will she stop? Realising he is human too, or will she go on.
It is a good question.
