And that, my friends, is both this movies biggest strength and it's Biggest flaw, what is? This, the title.
There is a lot riding against this movie, the big culture of hating marvel post endgame for the sake of hating marvel post endgame, the fact that this is a Legacy character and not the original Captain America, the fact that a lot of recent Marvel Projects for better or for worse have left a lot to be desired, the fact that a section of the internet is hellbent on calling anything and everything woke....
Which is sad because there is a lot riding on this movie as well, including but not limited to, carrying the Legacy of Marvel and Captain America, introducing the Red Hulk, not calling this movie as New World Order, remember when this movie was called that?
But then they hard swerved to no not that because the name has some not so great real world implications, which is what seems to be a problem that shines greatly in this movie.
Well maybe not so much as in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, because that show was completely changed because of the Covid Pandemic.
Yeah in case you didn't know, the word went around that there was originally going to be a Global Pandemic planned by the Power Broker from Madripoor, yeah, you can see why they dropped that plot line, so it is once again much less here, but yes, the problem exists.
And you can feel it especially when it comes to the character of Sabra or Ruth as she is called in the Movie.
You see in the comics she is an Israely nationalist Super Hero, here she is just an ex-Black Widow.

I mean "just" a Widow sounds wrong, yes that is still a big deal, but it is less of a Deal than an actual mutant, and yet somehow Ruth wears a Sabra Costume in that one scene anyways, for some reason.
But the more pressing problem, al be it a less visible one, is the Serpent Society, now originally this movie was going to feature the Serpent Society heavily, but later on they reduced it because everyone on the internet was not feeling it.
And instead now we just have Sidewinder, the leader of the Serpent Society, shooting Guns at Captain America, or as most people saw it, Gian Carlo Esposito shooting Anthony Mackie.
So yes, they made a lot of changes in order to sidestep potential controversies, but not all of these changes are bad, the internet tells me that apparently the Winter Soldier Cameo was added in re shoots.
There is a lot of chatter online about, oh shouldn't people know about mind control and how the Winter Soldier was subjected to it etc. But, A the Winter Soldier was conditioned and brainwashed for years, B since he is currently running for office, I think the media would like to keep that part of him a secret? Hard sell I know, point is, nowhere has it been seen that conditioning commands are given like this via light flashes.
So yes, the public and Media in the MCU should have been more intelligent, because that's what these two are known for, their intelligence.
Point is, people are dumb, all over.
And on the lines of people being Dumb, Bucky said a line where he encourages Sam to not take the Serum by saying Steve Gave them hope, you give them something to aspire to, and everyone and their mother said, Steve did also.
And I was like, either you are missing the point or you just aren't satisfied by it, because the point is, Sam gives them something to Aspire to WITHOUT the Serum, yes you can be good hearted like Cap, yes, you can be a good leader etc. etc. But at the end of the Day, you are not stopping a Helicopter with your bare hands and you know it, and as much as we would like to pretend its not a part of the Captain America Mantle, it is.
And that is why it is so important that Sam faces the Hulk without the Serum based just on his suit and skills, of course everybody has questions, questions that they somehow didn't have for Iron Man, Who stood against way more punishment, an Alien threw a moon at him, and he did not have Vibranium but you know what, I get it, New Characters are difficult to adjust to.
And maybe there are no other Geniuses like Tony Stark, but still, nothing we haven't seen before.
Something that we haven't seen before though, is Sam getting stabbed and walking it off, I don't get that, how did he do that??? Was there some form of enhancement I missed, or is it just Anthony Mackie's hot bod at work.
Did he stop the knife with the sheer power of his pectoral muscles, I don't know.

What I do know, is that this movie has a wonderful Cameo by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it finally Addresses the giant celestial head sticking out in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and not just that, it brings back Betty Ross, Addresses what happened to the Leader after the Incredible Hulk and brings back that paralyzing sound Machine from Iron Man one, and a lot of other things.
And because of all this and the fact that Red Hulk is finally in the MCU, I really don't think this movie is bad, don't get me wrong, it is very.... soft in its blows, it feels a little... sanitized, but for the first time I actually felt that "Marvelness" I fell in love with.
Marvel knows they have been failing, and they are in some sense coming back to form, and it seems, over all this will be one of those movies which many people try to dislike at first but then it grows on them.
